Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated with aplastic anemia, especially thrombocytopenia, is a challenging problem during the interventional therapy of coronary heart disease. One case of AMI complicated with aplastic anemia was reported. Coronary angiography showed severe stenosis of the left main stem, anterior descending branch, circumflex branch and right coronary artery. The patient failed to receive long-term dual antiplatelet therapy due to low platelets. The circumflex branch and right coronary artery lesions were treated with drug balloon dilation. No chest pain, chest tightness and palpitation occurred in postoperative follow-up. This case prompts that drug balloon dilatation may be a safe and effective treatment for AMI patients complicated with thrombocytopenia caused by hematologic diseases.
