Abstract: In recent years, non-suicidal self-injury （NSSI） has become a serious mental health problem for adolescents all over the world, which seriously threatens the mental and physical health of adolescents and attracts high attention from social circles. After the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic at the end of 2019, the morbidity of NSSI has been increased significantly among adolescents. However, the risk factors and pathogenesis of NSSI in adolescents are still unclear. In this article, the epidemiology, risk factors and pathogenesis of NSSI in adolescents were reviewed, aiming to provide more reference for further research.
