Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the epidemiology and life quality of school-age children with allergic rhinitis (AR) in Lecong Shunde,and to provide evidence for community intervention. Methods:Four thousand eight hundred and fifteen school-age children in four schools in Lecong, Shunde were randomly selected. Questionnaires of allergic rhinitis and quality of life were investigated in these children. Results:Qualified questionnaires were 4 681 pieces, recovery rate was 97.2%. The prevalence of AR of school-age children was 11.2% in Lecong Shunde. The difference of prevalence between females and males didn’t have significant difference(P>0.05). In these 524 AR cases,66.7% (349/524) are slightly,33.4% (175/524) are severe.Nasal blockage is major cause of influencing the children sleep、spirit in daynight、exam grades and has statistical significance. Conclusion:There is high prevalence of AR in school-age children in Lecong Shunde. Moderate-severe AR influences the life quality of the children. The parents and teachers should be pay attention to this question.
