Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the effect of mild heat stress on immunological function of splenic macrophage. Methods:Macrophages were isolated from rat spleen and primarily cultured. Mild heat stress was performed by incubating cells in a 41 ℃ thermostat container for 1 h and recovering to 37 ℃ thereafter. Phagocytosis, cytotoxicity, and chemotaxis functions of macrophages were evaluated at 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 120 min and 180 min after mild heat stress, respectively. Results: Phagocytosis, cytotoxicity, and chemotaxis functions of macrophage were enhanced after mild heat stress(P<0.05~0.01). The maximal effect occurred after 60 min and then gradually decrased. Conclusion:Mild heat stress promotes the immunological function of splenic macrophage.
