Abstract:
Injection of piperacillin sodium and tazobactam sodium can be used for systemic and/or local infections, including soft tissue infection, bacterial septicemia, bone and joint infection, multiple bacterial infection (various bacterial infections in suspected infection sites). As a commonly used anti-inflammatory drug for the treatment of burns and wounds, the most common adverse reactions are skin reactions, gastrointestinal symptoms and anaphylaxis. However, central nervous system symptoms, such as convulsion or numbness, are extremely rare. In this article, clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and literature review was performed. The diagnosis and treatment of one case of systemic muscle tremor and numbness induced by injection of piperacillin sodium and tazobactam sodium were reported, aiming to captivate the attention of clinicians, deepen the understanding of adverse reactions induced by this kind of drugs, reduce the incidence of adverse outcomes.
