Call for Papers for Special Issue on "Surgical Interventions in Gastrointestinal Diseases"

With the accelerating pace of modern life and changes in dietary habits, the incidence of gastrointestinal diseases has been rising steadily, posing a significant public health challenge that seriously affects the health and quality of life of the Chinese population. The importance and urgency of addressing gastrointestinal diseases require no further emphasis. Surgical intervention remains an effective treatment approach for many gastrointestinal disorders. To promote academic exchange in the field of surgical interventions for such diseases and advance the diagnosis and treatment technologies for gastrointestinal disorders in China, the Journal of New Medicine is pleased to announce the launch of a special issue titled “Surgical Interventions in Gastrointestinal Diseases”. This special issue aims to provide a dedicated academic platform for clinicians, researchers, and scholars to explore new concepts, technologies, and methods in the surgical treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. We sincerely invite medical professionals across the country to submit high-quality academic papers for consideration.

Professor Wei studied under Professor Wang Jifu, a founding figure of gastrointestinal surgery in China. With over 30 years of clinical experience in general surgery, he is highly skilled in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and other general surgical diseases and tumors. As one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery for gastric and colorectal cancers in China, he enjoys a high reputation and significant influence in the field of minimally invasive treatment for gastrointestinal diseases in China. He pioneered the Wei Line–guided radical rectal cancer resection with preservation of Denonvilliers' fascia (iTME), which significantly reduces the incidence of postoperative urinary and sexual dysfunction, and has become a new standard in rectal cancer surgery.

Professor Wei has been engaged in gastrointestinal surgery for over 20 years, with a strong focus on the comprehensive treatment of digestive tract tumors. His research is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction following rectal cancer surgery. He specializes in natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) for gastrointestinal tumors and actively integrates Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) principles to promote postoperative recovery of patients.

 

Submission Requirements for Special Issue

1. Topics for Manuscripts

We cordially invite experts and scholars from various fields to submit manuscripts on topics related to rare diseases. The contents include but are not limited to: advances in surgical techniques for gastrointestinal disorders, surgical treatment of gastrointestinal tumors, surgical approaches to benign gastrointestinal diseases, prevention and management of postoperative complications of gastrointestinal diseases, and perioperative assessment and management  strategies in gastrointestinal surgery.2. Types of SubmissionsGuidelines and consensus, expert forums, original articles, reviews, etc.3. Content Requirements

Submissions must be original, unpublished in domestic or international journals or conferences, innovative, scientifically rigorous, and practically valuable. Manuscripts should have clearly stated arguments, sufficient supporting evidence, conclusions well-supported by the presented results, concise wording, clear structure, accurate data, and appropriate statistical methods. Each manuscript should include a title, authors' names, abstracts and keywords in both Chinese and English. Please indicate information such as funding sources, authors' names, professional titles, and research directions in the footer of the first page. Academic integrity must be strictly followed; all references to others’ ideas or data must be properly cited. Formatting requirements for articles and references can refer to recent publications in this journal. Manuscripts generally should be no less than 7,000 words in length.  4.
