Objective:To observe and evaluate the validity and safety of drug-eluting stents (DES) for patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease(ULMCAD). Methods:we reviewed 68 patients with ULMCAD who had been treated by DES and collected their clinical data and used the Syntax score on the risk stratification. The major adverse cardiac cerebrovascular events(MACCE)among these patients were collected that including all-cause mortality, myocardial infraction, cerebrovascular events and target vessel revascularization. Results:The average age of 68 patients was(62±10)years old ,forty-eight of them were male. Forty-one patients suffered hypertension; twelve patients suffered type-2 diabetes mellitus. The mean Syntax score was (25.7±9.7).And the mean follow-up period was(35±16)months.Three patients died, four patients suffered myocardial infraction, one patient accepted coronary artery bypass grafting( CABG). Twenty-nine patients were reexamined coronary angiography, seven of them had restenosis and accepted percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) again. The 12 months MACCES was 15%,and the total MACCE was 22%.There was significant difference in MACCE between the two groups that had higher and lower Syntax score(44%vs15%,P﹤0.05).Conclusion:DES treatment is valid and safe in the patients with ULMCAD, particularly in those patients who have lower Syntax score.
